ABOUT JOEL LEROY –
Pioneer in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery since the early 1990’s. Recognized worldwide as a surgical expert, a master educator, an inventor and researcher (103 international patents in surgical fields of minimally invasive surgery), he developed and standardized too a lot of laparoscopic colorectal procedures.
For more than a quarter of century, he has been a leading figure in the field of minimally invasive surgery, not only as a trainer for thousands of surgeons, fellows and residents in the hospital and in educational courses but also as an innovator designing new medical devices and instruments surgical concepts and best practices. Most recently he has focused is interest in the development of a new surgical center in Hanoi: the “Hanoi High Tech and Digestive Center in St Paul Hospital of Hanoi” proposing to organize, for the first time in Vietnam, a colorectal cancer screening with immunologic test (7000 people are tested every day, more than 1.000.000 people tested in 2 years).
He published several hundred surgical video movies on internet and conferences during congresses. He participated in chapters of laparoscopic surgical books and Several hundred papers were published.
